Sick Day

I've been home sick all day today. I haven't left the house since I got home on Saturday afternoon. I'm still battling exhaustion and a headache that makes my head feel like a lead balloon held up with a toothpick. I haven't done anything productive for three days. It's such a strange feeling to be sick and watch the world march by.

That was quite the perfect simile (regarding the headache).

I'm sorry about the lead and toothpick thing.

Various tips I got from about five folks on Saturday when my migraine peaked:

1) Wrap ice in a blanket and lay on it like a pillow (didn't help me)
2) Get a massage (helped me a lot--can Eric massage?)
3) Remove yourself from all light (I put a mask over my eyes and a blanket over my head and it helped a lot)
4) Drink plenty of water (helped some)
5) Drink caffeine (I had a cut of hot green tea--it helped some--don't know if it was the caffeine or the comforting steam)
6) Don't let any toddlers jump on you during the headache (I didn't let any, but don't know how it compared to the alternative--probably helped)
7) Put your hand in a large jar of mayonnaise and keep it elevated above your heart. If that doesn't work, consume as much mayonnaise as you can. (Disgusting. Didn't try it).
8) Go to Brooklyn (Too expensive. Didn't try it).

Sorry you feel sick. Do you want me to mail you an ugly get-well card?
